JAMES, BERNARD W., 67
Ocala— Bernard W. James, age 67, passed away March 16, 2016 at his home after losing his battle with cancer. Mr. James is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne; four children: John Danio, James Danio, Joshua James, Erica Cridlebaugh; his sister Ellie Jaciow and his Uncle George LaPointe. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Max, Kendra, Aubrey and Michael. Bernie is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the army for 4 years. He grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of Therese LaPointe and Bernard James. He spent most of his career with the US Postal Service in Springfield and retired from there in 2003.
He had great faith in God and selflessly cared for those around him. He enjoyed coaching youth sports, playing golf and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by so many who will carry his exceptional spirit on with them.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 24th at Meadowbrook Church, 4741 SW 20 ST, Ocala, followed by a reception at 1:00 PM in the Arbor Club room G at On Top Of the World. He will be laid to rest at Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Interfaith Emergency Services Food Bank, 435 NW 2 St. Ocala, FL 34475.
