Our beloved, Alan Theodore Nektarios Chaddon, age 82, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on February 26, 2024. He was born on January 25, 1942 in Glendale, California and grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was the son of Charles Otto Chaddon and Mary Helen Stone Chaddon and preceded by his brother Roy Marot Chaddon and sister Shirley Ann Wangelin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Vasiliki Chaddon; son, Alan Evangelos Chaddon (Ana) and daughter, Eleni Eirini Chaddon (Yianni).
Alan served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, including tours in Vietnam and a final tour in Nea Makri Greece, where he retired, married and started his family. Upon returning to the U.S., Alan and his family had a brief stay in Alaska and Bremmerton, Washington, before he accepted a job with Martin Martietta in Orlando, FL. Alan worked for Lockheed Martin (formerly Martin Marietta) for 20 years as a Technical Writer until retired in 2004.
Alan was a loving husband and father to his family. He was the sole provider and always made sure his family was happy, including taking them on outings, activities, and family trips. His love continues to be felt by all. He was also active in his church community, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church as well as the local Greek Orthodox monasteries. He served on the parish council, volunteered at Greek festivals, sang in the church choir and was a loved member by all. Alan had two cats, Alexander and Loukoumi, that he loved dearly. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Maitland. He was buried at Panagia Vlahernon Greek Orthodox Monastery in Ocala, FL.
