Anders Peterson Jr., 92, passed away on January 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 28, 1925 to Anders Peterson Sr. and Mary Cummings.


He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Roberta Peterson; his brother, Jack Peterson; and his sister Anna Cremonese. He is survived by his son Anders Peterson III, his daughter and son-in-law Roberta and Frank Mann; his granddaughter, Kelsey Jean Peterson and her mother Norma Peterson.
Anders served in World War II from August 15, 1943 to October 16, 1945 as a U.S. Marine enlisting at the age of seventeen. His service was in the Pacific area and he participated in the battle of Vella, La Vella, British Solomon Islands.


He was married to Mary Roberta Briggs on March 27, 1948 in Philadelphia. In 1950 they moved to Silver Spring, Maryland where Anders worked as the manager of Mazor Masterpieces Fine Furniture from 1950 to 1970. From 1970 to 1976 he worked as a sales representative for the greater Washington DC area for the Pearson Furniture Company. He was promoted to National Sale Manager and moved to High Point, North Carolina. He was then promoted to Vice President of Pearson, and upon owners death, he was promoted to President of Pearson from 1977 to 1990. He retired in 1990 with the title of Chairman. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer. In 2001 he and Roberta moved to Golden Hills in Ocala, FL.


Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29 at 1:00p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers please donate to Kindred Hospice, 1320 SE 25th Loop Suite 101 Ocala, FL 34471. Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home.
