HAW, Barbara Jo
Ocala – Barbara Jo Haw, 73, passed away April 27, 2016. Born in Bennettsville, SC on April 25, 1943 to Richard Earl Strickland and Freddie Mae Mappin Miller. She married William H. Haw on December 25, 1964 and they moved here from West Palm Beach 20 years ago. Barbara graduated from Central Florida Community College with an AS degree in 1999, an AA degree in 2005, and then a Bachelor’s degree in 2009 from the University of Central Florida. She attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and was a life-long band parent.

She is predeceased by her father, Richard Strickland and her sister, Carol Anderson, and was a direct descendent of Jefferson Davis.  She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, William H. Haw; mother, Freddie M. Miller, of Atmore, AL; daughters, Nancy Lynne Carl (Richard), of West Palm Beach, Stephanie Marie Haw, of Ocala; brothers, Richard Strickland (Nieta), of Gainesville, GA, Rusty Miller (Tracy), of Atmore, AL; one grandson, Brandon Messerrof and numerous nieces and nephews.   Barbara was a wonderful mother and wife and will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her beloved dogs, Maggie Mae and Sally Ann.

Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL with Reverend Edwards officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior. Private interment will be later in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
