Betty Brooks

Ocala - Betty Jean Brooks, 84, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2016. Born in Raiford, Florida on July 16, 1932 to Aubrey and Lillian B. Brooks. She grew up in Fellowship, FL before moving to Orlando, FL to work for the Orange County FL Property Appraisers Office. She moved back to Ocala in 2013 to be closer to her family.
Survived by her brother, John Brooks (Ann); and sister Mary Lois Yandle (Clark); sister-in-law, Virginia Brooks, of Gainesville, FL; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Jack and S.B.; and parents, Aubrey and Lillian. She loved going to breakfast and visiting with new and old friends. Never forgot a birthday, nor a cute card. As her nephew Lee S. Brooks stated, "She was an independent, single, working career woman long before it became a "thing".
Memorial Service will be 10:30 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
