Through the years she cared for and touched the lives of so many youths in Anthony. Betty was a co-founder of the first Girl Scott Brownie troop at Anthony Elementary School, she coached girls’ softball teams at the Anthony Little League, she was an avid band booster for the North Marion High School Colt Marching Band and spent time as a volunteer at the Unity Baptist Church, Anthony Elementary School, and Reddick Elementary School helping with an afterschool bible study group. She was dedicated in her faith including attending Bible Study Fellowship at First Baptist in Ocala for over eight years and was a Group Leader for many of those years.
In Tampa, she continued her dedication by attending bible study and being active in her retirement community. She was well known for spearheading gatherings such as “Bingo with Betty” to promote fun activities for her neighbors.
