GLISSON, Bobby Ward
Ocala - Bobby Ward Glisson (affectionately known as Pawpaw), 80, went to be with our Lord October 21, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 27, 1938 in Cypress, Florida to Irvin and Ursula (Jones) Glisson. He retired from Florida Power, as a Lineman, after more than 31 years of service. He was also an ordained deacon and served in the Baptist Church. Bobby served in the Army National Guard and US Army.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois; son Kenneth "Kenny" (Lori) Glisson; daughters Rhonda (Wayne) Hunter, Robyn (Fred/Dennis) Finley; sisters Sandra Rodgers, Florence (Tommy) Thompson; six grandchildren: Cindy (James) Winterbauer, Kenny (Adele) Glisson, Stacey Hunter, Steven (C.L.) Glisson, Wesley Hunter and Daphne (Alex) Arreola; seven great grandchildren: Rylie, Reagan, Hunter, Ben, Emilia, Kiara and Kamilla and a great grandchild on the way. He was preceded by his daughter Cynthia and brother, John.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Silver Springs, with Pastor Wayne Hunter officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Countryside Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, Florida.
