Carl David “Pete” Hensley of Ocala passed away June 21, 2021. He was born March 10, 1949, the son of the late Carl C Hensley and Evel E Sharon Hensley. Carl was a native of Kentucky, born in Holbrook, KY, graduating with the Grant County High School class of 1967. Furthering his education at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky. Upon retiring as a long distance truck driver he enjoyed bowling, fishing and golf with friends and relatives. Being from Kentucky he was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wild Cats and his Florida Gators. Carl was a very kind person with a smile and a hug for everyone. Kandys friends referred to him as a big Teddy Bear. He made an effort to speak regularly with his cousins in Kentucky with whom he shared many laughs as he did with his sisters as well. He was especially fond of his current neighbors and spoke of their kindness often.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Deborah G. Hensley and Rita Mehas.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years Kandy (Harris) Hensley, daughters; Amanda Brown, Texas and Sarah Sosa (Roger), Ocala. Heather (Ed) Tillis, Ocala. Five grandchildren; sisters, Janice E Hensley Charelston, WV, Judith (Bob) Fleenor, Evans, GA, brother-in-law Mark Mehas, Cincinnati, OH. Numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. Also his beloved Pomeranian Lacy.
