Carol Ann Provost, age 79, of Ocala, passed away on January 15, 2023. She was born on December 31, 1943 in Burlington, Vermont, a daughter to the late Kenneth and Helen (Rouille) Wilkin.
She graduated from Burlington High School in 1961 and earned her registered nursing degree from Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing in Quincy, MA. She began a career in psychiatric nursing and participated in some of the first research on eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa. In 1967, she married Daniel Provost, who preceeded her in death (2011). They moved to Reddick, Florida, in 1975 and she found employment working in the ER of Munroe Regional Medical Center. Later she took great pride in managing Dan’s career as an over-the-road truck driver as well as multiple rental properties, and her beloved flower shop. An avid NASCAR fan, she loved to travel with Dan, whether on the truck or in their RV.
She is survived by two sons, Robert William (Mareike) Grover of Chemnitz, Germany, and Scott Daniel (Michelle) Provost of Ocala, and a daughter Amy Kay (Derick) Edge of Lake City; seven grandchildren: Andrew Joseph Allan, Elissa Breanne Krumm, Justin Robert Harrison, Cameron Allan Harrison, Randall William Henges, Hannah Liberty Provost, and Helene Marie Grover, as well as three great-grandchildren Kaiden Allan, Layne Henges, and River Allan. She is also survived by three brothers James Wilkin (Debra), Richard Wilkin (Mary Jane), Robert Wilkin (Jill), and one sister Barbara (Raymond) Jodoin. She was a member of the Reddick First United Methodist Church for over forty years.
Carol’s memorial service will be held at the Church at 11 a.m. on February 18th. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Reddick First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 55 Reddick, FL 32686.
