SPARKMAN, Catherine Burwell
Micanopy - Catherine Burwell Sparkman, 72, passed away August 1, 2017. She was born September 29, 1944, in Norfolk, VA, to Wallace and Sally B. Owen. Catherine moved with her family to Ocala from Orlando in 1971 where she worked as a radiology technician for Dr. Wagdi Faris for 38 plus years. She was a very active member at her church, Church of the Mediator in Micanopy where she sang in the choir and was very involved in the Micanopy Fall Festival. She enjoyed making beaded cross necklaces. It was a labor of love and her way of sharing God's love with others.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James E. Sparkman; sons, Michael (Stacey), Scott (Robin); daughter, Shannon Bento (Brian); sister, Dale Frymire; 10 grandchildren, Jessica Sparkman, Dusty Sparkman, Ashley Sparkman, Michaela Sparkman, Courtney Sparkman, Sara Galloway, Shaina Roper, Sharla Alvarez, Kaitlynd Bento, and Isabelle Catherine Bento.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Episcopal Church of the Mediator, Micanopy, FL with Father Les Singleton officiating. Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL
