Elder Charles Jarrell passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the age of 77 years with his wife, Rebecca Adair Jarrell, by his side.
He was born in Ragland, West Virginia on January 11, 1940, to Roy and Mazie Jarrell and was one of 11 children. He moved to Marion County over 50 years ago. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked in business and retired from the Marion County School Board after 22 years at North Marion High School.
He is preceded in death by siblings Henry Ray, Jack, Morris, Howard Roy, Curtis (Bud) and Steve; and one sister, Virginia Muriel Ferrell. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his daughters Margaret (Scott) Cole and Terri (Bruce) Forsyth; sisters Naomi (John) Cooper of Delaware, OH and Nyoka Barnhart of Matewan, WV; four grandchildren, Melissa, Rebecca, Patrick (Aubree) and Jared; 4 great-grandchildren, Rainey, Maddox, Mackenzie and Brandon; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony, FL from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on April 11th. Funeral services will be held at Southern Home Church, 14748 North Magnolia Avenue, Citra, FL at 10:30 a.m. on April 12th. Elders of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow services at Southern Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Southern Home Church, c/o Brother Tom Adair at 1954 S.E. 88th Street, Ocala FL, 34480.
