Clarence “Jerry” Jerome Park

Ocala

Clarence Jerome Park, “Jerry.” (1957-2024)

Jerry loved the Lord and tried to live accordingly since he was a young adult.

He was born in Gainesville to Stella and Grady Robert Park. He was raised in Ocala (where his maternal family has a rich heritage), since he was a toddler. After graduation, he enlisted in the military in 1976 and proudly served in the Marines for his country.

He and his wife Toni married in 1984 and have 3 grown children; Lindsey Nicole, Matthew Jordan and Morgan Estelle. He dearly loved his children and spent much time with them.

He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be the forest or the beach. He would frequently take his children, when they were young, on outings to both. If they went to the forest, it was referred to as “the deep woods.” He would drive as far as he was able and then they would walk even further into the woods. The day would be spent exploring and cooking over an open fire. His wife did not go on the deep woods trips, but definitely went on the beach days.

Another highlight in his life was Gator football, Gator basketball, Gator baseball, actually, anything Gators.

As time went by, he still enjoyed the outdoors, but did so in our backyard with his face always toward the sun. He had the privilege to see his grandchildren enter this world and loved to spend time with them; James, Nate, Harrison and Ethan Park.

Jerry was a Christian who cherished the Bible and the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He and Toni raised their family in the church. His current place of worship was at Woodside Baptist Church.

He worked in several areas throughout his life, most of which were security positions. His last place of employment was at Publix, working as a cashier.

Jerry was preceded in death by Grady Robert Park, his father. He is survived by his wife, Toni ; their children, Lindsey Redd (Joey), Matthew Park (Kylie) and Morgan Park. He is also survived by Stella Johnson (mother), Russell Park (brother), Sandra Park(sister), Ronnie Johnson (half brother), Bobby Johnson (step brother) and Susan Glendinning (step sister). He is also survived by nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 5 PM at Woodside Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior. Internment at the Florida National Cemetery will be private to the immediate family.
