Colleen Maynard

Colleen Elizabeth Chanter Maynard passed away on May 2, 2023 at Leesburg Regional Hospital due to heart complications.  She is survived by her two children, Dallas Wade Maynard of Citra Florida and Brandy Elizabeth Maynard of Ocala, Florida.  As well as her two grandchildren Bailey Wade Popp and Garbriel Xander Popp.

She was born July 17, 1952 in Rochester, New York to parents James Fredrick Chanter and Irma Ruth Chanter.  They moved to Florida when Colleen was 2 years old to West Palm Beach Florida.  She grew up swimming and fishing in the saltwater, activities she continued to love and enjoy throughout life. She also loved to garden and attract the birds.  The library was her favorite place, she loved to read and watch movies.  She was very strong in her faith and was a devoted Catholic from a very young age.  She could always be found telling stories, singing songs and dancing.  She loved to cook meals and share the love of food.  She was always giving something away.  She was happiest when she made others laugh and spread love through giving.  She worked for the Florida department of Health as a health inspector for 16 years.

A Memorial service has been scheduled for Friday May 19, 2023 at 4:00pm at Countryside Funeral Home.
