Craig Cline age 90, of Ocala,FL formally from Gilbert WV passed away on June 1, 2024. He was born on January 25, 1934 in Isaban, WV. He graduated from Ieager High School and went through their vocational program to be a mining engineer. He also received certifications from Bluefield State College for drafting and mine safety. Worked as a safety engineer and draftsman for numerous coal mining companies in southern WV. The family moved to Florida in the mid 80’s and he started a home repair business which he did until he retired at age 80. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala and served as an usher for many years. He loved to give out silver dollars to the kids at his door. He called it a big nickel.
He was the son of Greenway and Mazie Cline. He leaves behind a daughter Ginny Spear to cherish his memory; two grandchildren Heather (John) Somers and William E. Spear III (Tiffany), two great grandchildren who he adored John David and Mackenzie Somers. He has numerous nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 68 years Mary Lou and a son William Craig. His son in law Bill Spear who he adorned. He was the youngest son of 8 siblings. They were Greenway Jr. (Marie) Cline, Columbus (Adeline) Cline, Paul (Lassie) Cline, Nora Cline Yates (Carl Chick Yates), Cecil (Shelby) Cline, Genevieve (Bobby) Dewese, Lois (Jack) McArdle.
A service has been scheduled to celebrate his life and love for the lord on June 7th at 1:00 pm at Countryside Funeral Home with interment to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens.
