ANDRIX, Daniel Harry
Ocklawaha - Daniel Harry Andrix, 68, passed away on August 8, 2020, in Ocklawaha, Fl. He was born on May 6, 1952, to George William Andrix and Laura Carolyn Veeck, in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Westerville, Ohio where his family history extends to the mid 1800's. He served in the United States Navy as a Submarine Qualified Machinist's Mate and crewed numerous patrols onboard Ballistic Missile and Fast Attack Submarines during the Cold War, including a crossing under the ice of the North Pole.  He retired in 1992 after 20 years of decorated service and attaining the highly respected position of Command Master Chief.  In retirement, he found the peace and quiet of the Ocklawaha National Forest and built a home there where he said he was thankful to God for every day he was given and loved life.  He enjoyed cigarettes, strong coffee and cold beer and the simple pleasures of speaking with his grandkids, wood working, fixing things and helping others.  Among his neighbors in the forest, he was known as a helping hand to many and source of guidance and encouragement through their many trials of life.  "It's Just Another Day in the Forest" was his regular reply when asked how he was doing.

He is preceded in death by his spouse of 19 years, Jeannie Renee Kulczyk in 2018; and his brother, Michael David Andrix in 1991.

He is survived by his sons, Benjamin Andrix (Cecile), James Andrix (Amy); brothers, Steve Arnold(Stephanie), Kevin Arnold(Diane), sister, Jenny DelVecchio; grandchildren, Rosina, Jason; and several other family and friends.
