Daniel Carr, Sr.

August 16, 1964 — December 31, 2022

Ocala

Daniel Lee Carr, 58, of Ocala, FL, passed away at home on December 31, 2022.  Dan was born on August 16, 1964 in Detroit, MI, the middle child of Carlos and Mary Carr's seven children.  On June 27, 1983 he married the former Laura Walters and they recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary.

Dan worked a multitude of jobs throughout his too-short life, and was the owner/operator of Dan Carr Roofing at the time of his passing.  He and Laura moved to Florida in 1989 to raise their family and to escape the cold of Michigan.  Together he and Laura enjoyed quarter mile drag racing and antiques.  Dan loved spending time with his family and friends, hosting memorable parties in the pool area in the back yard.  He was an avid gardener and was especially proud of the variety of peppers and tomatoes he grew in raised beds and planter pots.  Dan was a master of the barbecue grill and an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting trips to West Branch, MI. His annual deep-sea fishing trip with his buddies was something he always looked forward to.

Dan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who loved him.  He is survived by his wife Laura and his beloved grandson Kyndyl Acome.  Survivors also include his siblings Michael (Henrietta) of Warren, MI; Curt (Sue) of Leonard, MI; Paula of Sterling Heights, MI; Steven (Ray Purington) of Gill, MA; and Julie (Colleen) of Oxford, MI.  Dan is also survived by his mother-in-law Lillian Walters (Ray Pelletier) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents, his son Daniel Jr. (2018), his daughter Carla Falcone (2020), an infant grandson Grayson, and his brother Christopher.

There are no calling hours and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
