Daniel "Dan" Charleston

Daniel (“Dan”) Maynard Charleston, 85, passed away January 15, 2017. Born May 28, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to John J. and Maud M. Charleston. Dan has been a Marion County resident for the past 10 years. During his life, Dan was a decorated US Veteran having served in the US Marine Corps in the Korean War. Always active in his local church and committed to sharing the message of Christ, he also worked as an over the road truck driver accumulating well over 1 million miles of safe driving as well as having been involved in Christian radio broadcasting and several small businesses.
He is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Helen Johnson; sons, Daniel L. Charleston, Philip J. Charleston; daughter, Evelyn J. Kammin; brother Paul, and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Mary, brothers Harry, John, Bill, Clarence, and David; sisters, Rose, Char, Geri, Doll, and Gert.
His remains are to be interred at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Service details pending. Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
