David Wesley Forrest was born and raised in Ferriday, Louisiana on February 26, 1950. He went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Estelle Hospice House here in Ocala, Florida.
He is the son of Clarence Edward and Doris Elayne (Peoples) Forrest Sr. He felt the Calling of God to the Ministry in his middle teens. After graduating from Ferriday High School, he enrolled at Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas in 1969. This is where he met his Bride for 46 years, Betty Rose Abraham. They married on August 12, 1972 in Houston, Texas and as it so happened, this is the date of his passing.
He is the Father to a daughter, Sheila Roseanne (Christopher) Cullins of Ocala, Florida and a son, Brian Wesley (Kandace) Forrest of Douglasville, Georgia. He loved his two Grandchildren; Breleigh Elizabeth & Wesley Blake Forrest. He is the brother to Clarence Edward Forrest Jr of Arkansas, Gerald Wayne Forrest of Arizona, and a sister who preceded him in death, Doris Ann Wrolsen.
He worked in various positions of Churches in Texas, Mississippi, and Florida until he settled his Family permanently in 1983 here in Ocala, Florida. Through his Ministry, he touched many lives and hopefully was a stabling factor in their walk with God. He had a special place for the Ministry. He would present neckties, shoes, shirts and at times suits to Preachers and Friends. He was so sensitive to the Spirit of God and worship God in his own way.
He enjoyed talking about the Bible and reading while History was his favorite interest. Many Friendships and fond Memories were created from being involved in the Ministries at Life Tabernacle Church and Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church, both located here in Ocala, Florida.
He was employed at Mayhew Pest Control of Ocala, Florida where he retired after 21 years of loyal dedicated service in 2012. He serviced his Customers with a smile and saw many of their Children growing up through the years.
His Homegoing Celebration Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Cornerstone United Pentecostal Church of Ocala, Florida. Visitation will start at 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Service will begin at 7:00pm with Pastor C. Patton Williams officiating.
