David Otis Francesco Hogan, 42, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 4, 2021 in Ocala, Florida. He was born on September 25, 1978 in Columbus, Georgia to Leonard D. Hogan and Paola Penserini Hogan. David was a devoted husband and father and a pillar of strength for his entire family. Above all, he had a deep faith and loved Jesus with all of his heart, soul, and mind.
He is preceded by his father, Leonard D. Hogan.
David is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Sarah Hogan, whom he adored, his sons, Owen and Ian Hogan and daughter, Audrey Hogan who affectionately called him “Babbo”. David was a dutiful son to his mother Paola Hogan-Negron and step-father, Dalmacio Negron. He had steadfast bonds with his brother, Leonard "Benji" Hogan II (Alicia); and sisters, Denise Hogan-Brantley (Derrick), Rayna Hogan-Spellman (Michael), Catherine Hogan-Cutchen (Hugh). He is also survived by his God-mother and cherished friend, Dr. Carol Bartholomew and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
David loved to travel to Italy to spend time with his Italian family whom he deeply loved. He was an incredible chef, loved to be outdoors with his family riding bikes and taking walks. He had many hobbies from knitting blankets to making jewelry for his friends and family. He was a licensed Nurse Practitioner and had a constant thirst for knowledge.
There will be a funeral mass on Friday, February 12th, 2021 preceded by a viewing beginning at 9:30am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Candler, Florida where David was a member. His body will be laid to rest at the Gore Family Cemetery in Silver Springs.
