Dianna Lee Bissonette was born a twin to Donna Lynn April 22, 1964. Dianna passed away suddenly and tragically on November 25th. The grief felt by family and friends is deep and true.
Many people would like to think of themselves as friendly, good natured, amusing, compassionate, dependable, conscientious, easy going, fair minded, generous, hardworking, kind, loyal, sincere, thoughtful and humble. In reality, most of us may carry half of those traits. Dianna was special and was all of these things.
To her parents, she was their go to girl. Whether she wanted to help her dad with the gardening or wanted to use her day off to take her mother to appointments, Dianna said yes. She did it with a smile on her face. She pushed herself to do the right thing even when it wasn’t convenient for her. To her siblings, she was the sister who they could count on to call them at the crack of dawn to sing happy birthday in a not so melodious voice. She would laugh, knowing she had started their day earlier than they would have liked. Dianna loved a good joke.
Dianna chose a career in an industry that was predominantly male. In the beginning, she struggled with that but she persevered and ultimately earned the respect of her peers. They considered her fair and at the end of the day, a friend. Dianna was proud of her achievements and worked hard to maintain the level of responsibility during the last two years when she lost her mother and her twin. These were tough times but Dianna held on. Dianna’s family would like to thank the individuals at her workplace who helped her during these times. Good friends and a workplace who cares, are hard to find.
While Dianna did not have children, she loved her animals. They were her kids. With Dianna’s nature, it is not surprising that she loved animals and treated them with love. Too much “love” sometimes. Her little Vinny was on the chubby side. As with everything else, she could not say no to those big eyes.
Dianna’s partner, Sue, was a part of her life for over 17 years. There will be a large missing piece in the landscape of her life. A piece that can never be replaced. The Bissonette family extends their arms to her during this difficult time and for years to come.
As we celebrate the life of Dianna, the family would like to thank everyone who was a friend. Dianna would be speechless over the expression of grief. The family was already aware of how special she was and to hear the outpouring of sadness and kind words is heartwarming and truly appreciated.
Be mindful of how you live your life. Treat yourself and others like today is your last.
