Donald Lionel Mousseau Sr., 78, passed away at his home on Tuesday July 16, 2019 in Ocala FL.  He was born on September 6, 1940 in Lowell MA to Lionel and Lillian (Morrissette) Mousseau of Lowell, MA.

Donald graduated in 1959 from Lowell Trade & Vocational High School as a Machinist. He was Junior Class Treasurer, The Key, and a Machinist Award Winner.  On September 30, 1961 he married Virginia (Ginnie) Morrison. They raised a son Donald Jr, and two daughters, Debi and Christine.

After graduating Donald served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years as he began his career working for several companies in his field finishing his career at Akins Machinery of Londonderry, NH from which he retired in 2005 at the age of 65.  Donald and Ginnie relocated to Ocala, FL in 2005 where he lived until his passing.  He was also a 2-time survivor of Leukemia.

Donald, in his earlier years, enjoyed designing and repairing electronic gadgets and riding his motorcycle and in his later years collecting and listening to music and  going to the movies.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia A (Morrison) Mousseau;  Son: Donald Lionel Mousseau Jr. and Janice Manzi of Hudson NH;  Daughters: Debi (Hanley) and Dock Cox of Lancaster SC and Christine Marie Mousseau of Hudson NH;  Four Grandsons:  Mark Grimshaw, Jacob Hanley, Donald Mousseau III, Zachary Mousseau, two step-grandchildren, Felicia and Paul Manzi.  10 Siblings:  Aline (Mousseau) Chiasson and husband Richard Levesque of Billerica MA;  Richard and wife Alice (O’Brien) Mousseau of Waltham MA;  Francis R. (Frank) and wife Louise M. (Baron) Mousseau of Dracut MA;  Claire (Mousseau) Kopka wife of Bruce Kopka of Hudson FL;  Denise (Mousseau) McCann and Paul McCann of Tewksbury MA;  Jeanne Mousseau of Auburn NH;  Jann Mousseau and her wife Terry Wendorf of Auburn NH;  Gerard L (Jerry) and Louise A. (Clark) Mousseau of Ocala FL; Gerty Sousa of Pelham NH;  Roland and Debra (Furness) Mousseau of N Waterboro ME;  and many nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded by his parents Lillian and Lionel Mousseau, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary and George Morrison, brother Roger Mousseau, daughter-in-law Susan Mousseau, and son-in-law Steven Hanley.

A ceremony and celebration of Donald’s life will be held sometime in August. Details will be made available prior to the event.
