Edgar Franklin

On Friday July 9, 2021, Edgar Robert Franklin, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 91.  He was born December 2,1929 in Birmingham,AL. He served in the Air Force and later the Air National Guard. He married June Cornelison on July 4, 1952, and immediately drove to Miami,Florida, staying at little motels along the way.  They raised four children, Edgar Robert Jr “Bobby “, Carol Ann (Frazier) of Rock Hill,SC, Elizabeth Lynne (Garwood) of Ocala, FL and Catherine Lori (Swarm) of Bellefonte, PA.
He worked for Southern Bell in Miami, starting as a lineman and working his way up to management, retiring in 1982 to spend time with his family.

He was preceded by his parents, Corrine (Swauger) and Rutherford Lane Franklin Sr, his brothers Rutherford Lane Jr, John William and his son Edgar Robert Jr (Bobby).
He is survived by his loving wife, three daughters, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony,FL.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
