Edgar Lee Wellhoner, 94, of Conner, Florida, died Tuesday November 24, 2015, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.  He was born January 19, 1921 in Grahamville and lived his entire life in Conner, with the exception of his military service.
He was a graduate of East Marion High School Class of 1938 and attended the University of Florida.  A World War II veteran, he served in the US Coast Guard Reserve.  As a 2009 Honor Flight participant he took his first and only airplane flight at age 88.  He was employed by Sparr Building and Farm Supply for most of his working life.
Preceding him in death is his wife, Lois Barnes Wellhoner, his son, Edgar Lee Wellhoner, Jr., his parents Jack and Helen Wellhoner, and two brothers, Jack and Raymond Wellhoner.
He is survived by his daughter Elaine McCreary (Ron) of Tallahassee, daughter-in-law Cheryl Wellhoner of Killeen, TX, grandchildren Steve Wellhoner (Laura) of Island Lake; Jeanelle Wellhoner (Mike Reynolds); and Deborah Hilton (Paul), both of Conner; and Travis Wellhoner (Natali) of Killeen, TX.  Great grandchildren include Brandy and Jacob Reynolds, Ocala; Clayton, Ian, and Conner Hilton of Conner; and Jeremy, Ryan, and Layla Wellhoner, Island Lake.  He is also survived by a sister, Caroline Farmer, sister-in-law Joan Wellhoner, both of Conner; sister-in-law Dorothy Dupper of Indian Rocks Beach; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Friday November 27 at 10am at the John Conner Graham Cemetery in Conner.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the John Conner Graham Cemetery Fund or Villages Honor Flight, PO Box 490, Lady Lake FL 32158-0490.
