Priest, Edna Reddick
Ocala - Edna Reddick Priest, 95, passed away peacefully June 30, 2018. Born November 16, 1922, in Martell, Florida, to George Richard Reddick and Lessie Tucker Reddick. She was a deputy clerk for the Marion County Property Appraiser and served on the board for the Anthony Cemetery for many years. During the second World War many people did what they could to help in the war effort and Edna was a volunteer for the Army Air Force Aircraft Warning Service Reserve and was responsible for taking a night watch in a field tower in Anthony every night from midnight until 2:00 a.m.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee Priest, son George Priest, six sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Priest (Becky); daughter, Judy Deen (Richard); grandchildren, Monica Priest Coons (Frank), Leslie Priest Munden (Travis), Clayton Douglas Priest (Andrea), Tammy Deen and Jennifer McCord (Jamey); great grandchildren, Billy, Montana, Stella Joy, Cody, Sophia and Connor; and great-great grandchildren, Colton, Billy and Tripp. Also survived by Randy and Joy Detlefsen.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Friday, July 6, 2018, at Unity Baptist Church, with Reverend Samuel W. Clements officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow in Anthony Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
