Eileen Mary Guenette,
age 80, passed away on October 18, 2023 in Ocala, Florida. She was born on March 7, 1943 in Boston,
Massachusetts, a daughter to the late Ralph L. and Marian (Goodwin) Gay. She relocated to this area in
1970 from Pompano Beach, Florida. She retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Ocala.
During her life-time, Eileen enjoyed literature, arts and crafts, and was a great Gator fan! Later, she
increased ratings for the Discovery Channel intrigued by the mysteries of ancient history, their continued
findings of archeology sites and the theories that followed within them. She kept active while bowling
weekly. She maintained a sharp mind and strong willingness for self-preservation staying independent all
the way through her life.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband David R. Guenette, Sr. They
shared more than 50 years of marriage together experiencing extensive travel throughout the United
States and abroad. Among many things together they enjoyed was camping and being campground host.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory to sons, David R. Guenette, Jr., Brian (Michelle) Guenette, a
wonderful daughter Laura Guenette, her grandchildren Sheyenne, Shawn and Dr. Alexis Guenette with
fiancé Maumer, her great grandchildren Mateo and Marcos. Her two brothers Ralph (Connie) Gay, Jr.,
James (Irene) Malloy, and two sisters Linda Mates and Christine (Ray) Brown. Along with her lifelong
best friend Rosemary Grube.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted with Countryside Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family November 11, 2023 at 1PM.
