Emma Lou (Mills) Tedder, 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 6, 2025. She was born on March 17, 1943, in Summerfield, Florida to Thornton Bothwell and Angie Marie Mills.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 33 years, James "Jim" Byron Tedder; husband of 15 years, Kenneth Young. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William "Billy" Mills, and her sister, Darlene Perryman.
She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: sons, Thornton "Byron" Tedder (Michelle) and Timothy Tedder (Amy); daughter, Lisa Stewart; sisters, Sonya Carroll and Gertrude McCornick (Brian), sister-in-law Jaca Mills, brother-in-law Mike Perryman, and her beloved grandchildren—Catherine, James, Landon, Madison, Timothy, Titus, and Caleb.
Emma’s life was a testament to her deep love for family, service to her community, and unwavering faith. Her home was always open, whether for a warm southern meal or a slice of her famous pound cake. She found joy in the outdoors, making cherished memories hunting, fishing, and birdwatching, but her greatest joy was in the love she shared with her children and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at Crum Cemetery.
