Ft. McCoy – Evelyn Mae Harper passed away on April 13, 2016. Born July 16, 1927, in Autaugaville, Alabama to Samuel Perry and Lizzie Mae Johnson. Evelyn grew up in Musella, GA, and moved to Ft. McCoy, FL in 1956. She was a homemaker and retired postal clerk. Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Kenneth “Sid” Harper; son, Marvin Gordon; one grandson and one great-grandson. She is survived by sons, Malvin Gordon and Oliver Kenneth Harper, Jr.; daughters, Linda Harper (William) Padgett, Doris Harper (James) Poole, Sydney Harper (Paul) Laxton; sister, Betty Doyle, Chamblee, GA; brother, Joe Johnson, Musella, GA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Ft. McCoy with Pastor Jeff May officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Ft. McCoy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to First Baptist Church of Ft. McCoy, PO Box 480, Ft. McCoy, FL 32134.
