Francis (Frank) Joseph Galvin, Jr., age 82, originally from Hammond, Indiana, but a long time resident of Florida, passed away on February 16,2025, after suffering a long and arduous illness. Frank was born in Hammond, on September 19, 1942. to Mary McGraw Galvin and Francis Joseph Galvin, Sr,. Daniel Leo Galvin was born nine years later completed the Galvin family of four.
Frank attended St. Joseph Elementary School, in Hammond, St. Thomas Moore Elementary School, in Munster, Indiana, and Mount Carmel High School in Calumet City, Illinois. Following his father's and Uncle's Patrick's, footsteps Frank began preparation for a legal career by first attending Fodham University, earning a B.S. Degree in 1964, and then attending Georgetown University where he received a J.D. degree in 1968.
Upon returning to Indiana, Frank practiced law with his father and Uncle at the firm of Galvin, Galvin & Leeney. He later started the law firm Galvin & Galvin, with his then-wife, Margaret and eventually broadened his firm by adding two partners creating the firm of Galvin, Stalmack and Kirschner.
Frank was a loyal member of St. Joseph Church in Hammond, where he and his second wife, Lynne, contributed anonymously to Church and community related programs benefitting the needy in the area.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; his wife, of 35 years, Lynne Lebin Galvin; a son, Frank Galvin III (Annette); a daughter, Ann Mierow (Matt); and daughter, Lourian Heller (Robert); as well as his brother, Daniel Leo Galvin (Susan); and grand daughters, Fiona Galvin and Lilly Mierow
A Mass will be held at St. Joseph Church on Hohman Avenue in Hammond, Indiana, at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, March 8th with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Calumet City, Illinois.
