George Howard Aldrich, age 83, Ocala, Florida, passed away on April 14, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1941, in Ocala, Florida, a son of Phelps Penny and Minnie Belle Aldrich.
He is preceded by; brothers, Eugene Edward Aldrich and James Wesley Aldrich.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife, Irene Aldrich of 58 years; son, Jason Aldrich (Kimberly)
George was employed by the State of Florida, Department of Transportation , for 33 years. He began his career with the state as a surveyor laying out most of the state roads around Ocala, (highway 200, Silver Springs Boulevard, 441/301 N. and others). The last 21 years of his career with the state of Florida was as a Maintenance Engineer.
After George retired from the State of Florida, he began his second career (21 years) growing Bromeliads (tropical plants).
George was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to go hunting and fishing. Archery and turkey hunting were his favorites over 60 years.
As a kid I remember all the trips to the Smoky Mountains, bike races in different states and the hunting and fishing trips. Memories I will cherish forever.
