Ocala – George Henry Bickler Jr., 83, passed away December 13, 2015 at Hospice Sylvia’s House. Born January 23, 1932, in East Orange, NJ, to George Henry Bickler Sr. and Matilda Margaret Gorman, he moved to Marion County in 1975. He retired from the United States Airforce after 24 years and worked for Central Florida Community College as an Academic/Vocational Counselor.   He was a long time member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.

George is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Bette Ann Balsom.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Betty J. Bickler; sons, Michael G. Bickler, Robert “Bobby” Bickler (Aurlie), Steven Wayne Bickler (Kristine); daughters, Patricia Marie (Monty) Tousignaut, Mary Susan Gildersleeve (Raymond); brother, Charles Earle Bickler; sister, Olga Bickler; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 Noon, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with Father Patrick Sheedy officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Florida National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans in memory of George H.
