George Darcy Brooker Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 19, 2024 in Ocala, Florida. He was born December 5, 1947 at St Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida to George Darcy Brooker Sr. (12-23-1921 – 03-19-1958) and Margaret Louise Gentry (08-16-1928 – 12-19-1993). George graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1966 and attended Palm Beach Junior College for two years. He was a Lifeguard at Lake Worth Beach and loved to fish off the pier. When he was not fishing, he was Wild Hog hunting in the J .W Corbett Area with his brothers and dogs. George worked and retired from Palm Beach County Road department as a heavy equipment operator. When he retired, he moved his family to Citra, Florida in 1988. George was a member of the Pine United Methodist Church and lived every day to be a good Husband, father and best of all a Papa.
He is preceded by: Sisters, Debra Clark (07-15-1955 – 11-15-98), Louise Bender (04- 10-1950 – 08-27-2003) and Brothers, Roy Brooker (08-30-1951 - 06-14-2005), John Brooker (09-12-1952 – 12-16-2019), and Tim Brooker (03-03-1958 – 10-20-2023).
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lucy Brooker, a sister Susie, daughter Kelly McNeill and her daughters, Darcy (Caleb), Shelby (Lowrance), and Gracie. Son, Mike Brooker (Ashley) and his daughters Adalye and Taylor. And one Great Grandson Coleman Carter, his pride and JOY!
