George Lamar Joiner, 90, passed from this earth to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Born August 7, 1933, in McIntosh, FL, he was a kinda and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to raise a garden and enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
From 1951 to 1953, he was employed by Coca Cola Company before joining the Military. Proud of his country he enlisted in the Army, serving in the 3rd Infantry "Rock of the Marne" during the Korean War from May 11, 1953, until April 22, 1955, where he earned the Korean Service, United Nations Service, National Defense, and Good Conduct medals. He was proud to have two grandsons serve in the Army as well. Upon his return from active duty, he again worked for Coca Cola until his employment with the United States Postal Service from 1956 thru 1992, when he retired after 36 years.
Lamar was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, JoAnn, parents Clarence and SadieJoiner, sisters Maxine Thigpen and Adele Henderson, and brother Colon Joiner.
He is survived by his daughters Cindy (Phil) Finley, Judy (Bruce) Roberts, and son Darrin Joiner; five grandchildren Damon (Alexis) Land, Kayla (Bill) Kreitz, Colton (Bryanna) Joiner, Brennin and Easton Joiner; five great grandchildren Addison, Paisley, Warren, Camryn, and Sadie; brother James "Jimmy" Joiner and numerous nephews and nieces, one of which was very close to "ParPar",Joy, along with her husband Tom, provided love, prayers, support and home cooked meals with every visit.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday March 27, 2024 at 1:00pm with visitation for one hour before at Countryside Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park..
