WILLIAMS, Gerald “Chip” David
Ocala - Gerald “Chip” David Williams, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on April 4, 2020 in Ocala, Florida. He was born on March 22, 1943 in Winchendon, Massachusetts. In 1961, he graduated from Murdock High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1966-68.
Prior to retiring in Ocala in 2012, Chip lived in south Florida where he had a 25-year career as a residential supervisor at a community-based facility for emotionally disturbed youth and later worked in the casino and gaming industry. Chip enjoyed spending time with friends and playing golf at the Miami Springs Country Club. In Ocala, he was a parishioner of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 1085. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife and spending time with his family in Miami and Chicago.
Chip is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Harriet M. Williams; son, Adelio J. Williams; daughter, Gretchen Williams Torres and her husband, Phillip; sister, Jane Bartlett Dellasanta; two grandchildren, Alessandra and Gabriel; aunt, Marion Montanari; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda (Montanari) Bartlett and uncle, Adelio J. Montanari.
A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Trinity and burial at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. A memorial mass and celebration of Chip’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
