Gregory Griffith

Gregory Arthur Griffith, a retired thoroughbred horse trainer and resident of Ocala, Fl passed away on July 27, 2021, he was 64.

Greg, as we all knew him, is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 45 years, his children Dennis Griffith, Salina Fleming (Carl Fleming Jr), Philip Griffith, and Valerie Griffith. His grandchildren Liam Brydon, Nicholas and Ryan Fleming, Kaelyn and Rhylyn Griffith, and Talia and Dominic Young.  Brother Gerard Griffith, sisters Susan Dichiara and Sharon Whitbek, along with many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Veronica (Dietrich) Griffith, brother Thomas Middleton, sisters Deborah Middleton, Eileen Steinlein, Maureen Kelly, and uncle Eugene Griffith.

Greg was born in East Meadow, NY on February 10, 1957.  He grew up in Elmont, NY and began his career in thoroughbred horse racing at Belmont Park working alongside his father and brother.  In 1976, he met his wife Donna and began their family.

Greg enjoyed thoroughbred horseracing, NASCAR, fishing, cruises and most importantly spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
