Gregory Alan Rice Sr., age 60, passed away August 13, 2015. Born November 28, 1954 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Franklin C. Rice and Geraldine Rice. As a child, Greg traveled the world with his parents while his father was enlisted in the Air Force as a Navigator.
Greg raised his family as a successful thoroughbred race horse trainer. He hung his trainer's cap at Charles Town Race Track and shipped to run at courses around the mid-Atlantic region. He had fond memories of his favorite horses such as Full Colonel, Cute Lie and Gini GoGo. He enjoyed operating his father's farm in Nokesville, Virginia, raising horses and hay.
At the end of a long day, Greg loved to throw one back with is close friends and fellow race trackers. He is surved by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol Bradshaw Rice; son, Gregory A. Rice, Jr., Baltimore, MD; daughter, Jessica L. Rice Rahimi, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sister, Karen Rice, Front Royal, VA; and step-mother, Dale S. Rice, Manassas, VA.
