Hannah Lassie Poremba age 81, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Marion County with loved ones at her side. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 25th, 1940. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Edward, her daughter, Cydney Robbins, her son, Andrew "Jake" Robbins, two grandchildren, Baxter Robbins and Rikki Bahman (Nathan), one great-grandchild,Remy, as well as five step-children,Julie Schoonover(Eric), Lisa Berg( Michael), Lauren Letterman(Paul), Carolyn Cipparrone(Louie), Christopher Poremba(Jennifer),eleven step-grandchildren and two step- great grandchildren. Hannah was the beloved daughter of the late Bernard and Evelyne Spira and step-grandmother of the late Andrew Poremba.
Hannah was a practicing licensed clinical social worker for the Evanston Illinois Public Schools. She and Edward moved with their two horses Big Red and Opie to Ocala from Winnetka IL in 2000. In Ocala, Hannah served in several volunteer capacities, as a tutor in an after school program, an English teacher for the Literacy Council and most recently for the Humane Society of Marion County and Voices of Change Animal League(VOCAL), where she exercised shelter dogs and led a pet visiting program in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Hannah was a regular contributor to the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch in Live Oak, FL.
Burial took place at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida.
