Herbert "Bud" Gossett, 85, passed away peacefully at home, September 24, 2015. Born July 8, 1930 in Phil Campbell, AL, to John Henry and Sarah Tyra Gossett. Bud was a Veteran of the United States Army who proudly served his country. He was a Construction Foreman and member of the Dade-Broward County Carpenter's Union. Bud resided in Broward County for over fifty years and retired to Anthony, FL, in 1995 where he attended Anthony First Baptist Church. During his retirement, he volunteered at Marion Therapuetic Riding Association and the Interfaith Food For Kids program. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Sarah and siblings Ruth, Dessie, Grovie, Jack, John and Ivalow. Bud is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Anita Gossett; son Randy (Kathy) Gossett, New Port Richey, FL; daughters, Terri (Ed) Calabello, Cooper City, FL, Sandra Gossett, Anthony, FL; sister, Johnnie Moorehead, Fitzgerald, GA; grandchildren, Sarah Calabello, Steve Calabello, Rachel (Billy) Cossette, Zach Gossett, Naomi Gossett; great-grandson, Owen Cossette and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bud was a devoted, Christian man whose greatest joy was spending time with his family. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL, with a visitation starting one hour prior, with Reverend James Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, Ocala, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Interfaith Food For Kids program in memory of Herbert (Bud) Gossett.
