Herbert Franklin Hooker "Boots", 87, passed away on March 17, 2021 in Ocala, Florida. He was born December 14, 1933, in Ocala, Florida to Doc and Lenora Hooker. Boots Hooker owned and operated Boot’s Barber Shop for most of his life. He was a proud member of both the Knights of Columbus and ELKS club, and spent many days volunteering his barber services to the veterans at the VA retirement home, and patients in our local hospitals.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Hooker, son; Floyd Irving Hooker, parents; Doc and Lenora Hooker, sister; Margie Gilmore, brother; Floyd Hooker, and grandson; John J. Adcock.
He is survived by his son; Herbert “Dee" F. Hooker Jr.(Patty), daughters; Debra K. Hooker, Cyndi Ellis(Brett), and Beth Gruber(Rich), sister; June Cole, sister-in-law; Patty Singley(Van), grandchildren: Laura Johnson, Justin Adcock, Jason Ellis, Julia Gruber, and Sean Gruber, and great-grandchildren: Rylan Adcock, Layne Adcock, Ava Adcock, Boone Johnson, Avey Ellis, Harlow Johnson.
A Funeral Mass will be held March 25, 2021 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, in Ocala, Florida at 3:30p.m. Visitation will be held March 24, 2021 at Blessed Trinity Chapel from 6:30p.m. to 8p.m. Join us as we celebrate the life of Boots Hooker.
