Hubert Dossey

Hubert "Butch" Dossey, a life long Ocala resident, was called home to Heaven Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021. He was a graduate of Ocala High School in 1961. Butch was a certified auto mechanic and started out at Dossey's Chevron and later at Ford of Ocala. He was always ready to offer mechanical assistance to anyone in need. He also owned a land clearing business. He was a talented and accomplished guitar player, who loved country music. Butch enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Butch is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dossey and father, Hubert Dossey Sr.; son, Darrell Dossey and daughter, Deitra Dossey.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Dossey; his daughter, Denene Dossey Strickland (David); granddaughter, Delaney Wright; daughter-in-law, Julie Meyer Dossey; grandson David Dossey; his step-son, Gregory Galas (Christy); grandchildren, Danielle, Chelsey, Sabrina, Crystal, Joshua, and Madison; his step-daughter, Gabrielle Walker (Todd) and granddaughter, Rachel Walker; and six great-granddaughters; his sister, Mary G. Clark (Dan); and his nieces and cousins.

In honor of his request, no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made in the name of Hubert "Butch" Dossey to the Shriners at donate.lovetotherescue.org
