Mrs. Iris Ann Avery Tapley, age 65, of Sandersville, died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Ocala Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial at 4:00 p.m. in Dublin Memorial Gardens in Dublin. Reverend Gary Mimbs and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Austin Williford, Chase Williford, Brandon Luffman, Bill Laird, Michael Aliff, and Richard Jenkins.
Mrs. Tapley was born in Dublin, the daughter of the late George Harlen “Chip” Avery and the late Gladys Carmak Avery. She, along with her husband, owned and operated WaCo Med Travel. Mrs. Tapley attended First Church of the Nazarene and possessed a passion for flowers and her house plants. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Avery (Bobby).
Survivors include: her husband, David L. Tapley Sr.; children, Angel T. Williford and her husband Travis and David L. Tapley Jr. (DJ); grandchildren, Austin Williford, Chase Williford and Madison Williford all of Sandersville; siblings, Dianna K. Luffman and her husband Buddy of Ocala FL., Mary “Tennie” Gay and her husband Gary of Dublin, and Jerry Avery and his wife Carol of Reddick, Fl.; mother-in-law, Mary Helen Tapley of Dublin and her beloved puppy Bella.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
