DIAMOND, Jack Erwin
Ocala – Jack Erwin Diamond, 81, passed away May 19, 2015. Born July 24, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, to Herbert and Rose Marie Diamond. He has resided in Marion County since 1991. He graduated Cum Laude at the University of Miami. Jack retired from the China Lake US Naval Center as a materials and process engineer “nit picking” causes of aircraft crashes and other malfunctions. He did the same work in San Diego, CA, Naval Station, and beginning at the US Marine Corps Air Facility in Havelock, NC. He was a long time member at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and of Belleview American Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Doris McMullen Diamond; sister Elaine Sheppard of Plains, MT; step-daughter, Susie Carter (John Carter) of Cape Canaveral, FL; step-son, Frank E. Tomlinson Jr. of Orlando, FL; niece, Dr. Rhonda Damschen of Plains, MT; nephew, R. Gary Baker of Charlotte, NC, niece and nephew Beth and Mark Feciura of Ocala, FL; grand-nephews, David, Daniel, & Douglas Damschen; granddaughters, Tracey Prospero (Ricardo) of Satellite Beach, FL, and Kimberly Pizatella (Ronnie) of Cocoa Beach, FL; and great-grandchildren, Cole, Reece, and Chiara Prospero, and Antonio, Hannah, and Aleina Pizatella.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2015 at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony, FL. Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513 with Rev. Bob Wannell officiating.
