Anthony, FL -

The man, the myth, the legend, the papa,  James Porter "Superman" Street, 53 passed away at the Estelle House with his wife of 31 years and his loving daughter, Stephanie Elizabeth, by his side on June 10, 2017. Jim served the great community of Marion County as a traffic supervisor. He worked for Marion County Board of County Commissioners for 27 years and reluctantly retired because of his illness. Co-worker, uncle, cousin, brother, son, husband and friend were among the titles that he held, but father and papa were his favorite.  His family will remember him as a provider, protector, and jokester.

Jim loved watching "real" professional wrestling, tinkering on many different projects, riding the golf cart in the fields, yard sailing, fishing, collecting, and hunting down coupons for bargains. Jim could be counted on to have a coupon or bargain for anything from restaurants to credit cards.  One recent wedding anniversary, Jim reluctantly overlooked his need for a restaurant coupon (you know this was extremely difficult) when another patron at the table shared a coupon.  Jim exclaimed, this was the best anniversary ever! He loved his bargains!

Jim is loved by many including his parents, Billie C and Doris Rawls Street; brothers Billie E. (Lisa) and Bobby, sisters Carolyn Spencer and Shannon, nephews Jake,  Zackary, and  Harry;  nieces Amanda and Carolyn Lucille;  daughter Stephanie (Josh), granddaughter,  Addison and his loving wife, Gay.  Jim is now reunited with his son Seth Thomas.   Cease the day and make memories that will outlast your lifetime! In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Public Education Foundation of Marion County, Thelma Parker Center, 1239 NW 4th Street, Ocala, FL 34475 or Hospice of Marion County, PO Box 4860, Ocala, FL 34478-4860

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Countryside Funeral Home, Anthony, FL.
