James J.P Gladdin

Fort McCoy - James Preston "JP" Gladdin, 79, passed away May 17, 2021 in Fort McCoy, Florida. He was born January 26, 1942 in Lacoochee, Florida to Sol David Gladdin and Ida Mae Harrell. James served in the Navy and later retired as a Chief Firefighter for the City of Ocala. He loved to deer hunt in Georgia and Colorado, earlier in life he liked to turkey hunt and bird hunt locally, he liked NASCAR, loved cooking and making is own spices and meat rubs (secret recipe). He never met a stranger and had many, many friends and family that thought the world of him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Sol and Ida Gladdin and sister; Elaine Childers.

He is survived by his daughter; Wendy Lucas (Roger), brothers; J.W. Gladdin, Danny Gladdin and sister; Peggy Smith. As well as one grandchild; Heather Whilden (Trevor) and two great grandchildren; Forrest and Willow.
