Janice Beverage

Janice Lynn (Marshall) Beverage of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Feb 8 th , 2023 after a courageous,
years long battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Commander Elliott Eugene Marshall and Emma
(Tucker) Marshall and sister of her cherished brother Lawrence (Larry) Marshall.

She spent most of her childhood in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, enjoying long stays with her beloved “Aunt Mum”(Estella, twin
sister to her mom Emma) and Uncle Dar. A graduate of the University of Maine, Orono, where she met
her soul mate and future husband, Albion Beverage of Dresden, Maine. Together they shared an
amazing 61 years of marriage. They started their family in Orono and eventually moved to Wallingford,
CT where they enjoyed their home on McKenzie Avenue and made so many lifelong friends. Nearing
retirement, they moved to sunny Florida and acquired the unfinished home of a local builder in Ocala.
Together, as was so typical of their lifelong love, they finished building their house, unique to
themselves with every facet reflecting trips, outings, and family. Filled with hand-built items, they
created their wonderful forever home. Jan enjoyed swimming laps in their pool, taking drives to the
beaches of Fl and going on the constant adventures Al dreamed up for them. In the evenings Al and Jan
enjoyed watching Jeopardy together. In the summer they opted for the tranquility of Maine, shifting
between their rustic log cabin in Dresden and their beloved cottage on North Haven Island, where
friends and family have gathered for generations. Jan was a devout Christian, avid reader, lover of all
sports and was a lifelong Red Sox fan. She loved to tease her Yankee’s loving relatives when the Sox
were up and took her lumps with a smile when they were down. Above all was her love of her family.
Her grandchildren flocked to her for the “Mr Snicklebottom” stories she created and told in such an
animated fashion. She loved playing cards with Al on the porch and was happy to trounce unsuspecting
challengers in a game of scrabble.

She is survived by her devoted husband, “her rock” Al, her daughter
Betsy Swiniarski of East Hartland, CT, her husband Ed and Betsy’s children Jamie, Elijah and Austin, her
son Albion of Portage, MI, his wife Joanne their children Grace and Robert, her daughter Ruth Meneo of
Wallingford, CT, her husband Paul, their children Paul and Christina, her son Bob of Wallingford, CT, his
wife Heather their children Lauren, Sarah and Daniel, her son John of Norfolk, MA, his wife Kristen, their
son Thomas and her loving nieces, nephews and extended family. A spring service will be held in North
Haven, Maine.
