He is preceded by is brother, Dennis "Bud" Nix and twin sister, Gale Francis.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremie "Jay" Nix (wife Nikki) and Christopher "Allen" Nix (wife Tarayn); sisters, Julia "Bunny" Peavey, Terri Childress and Sherri Gomillion; 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Taylor, Wyatt, Jacob, Bekah and Jeremie.
