Joan Greene
January 13, 1941 — June 27, 2015
Anthony -- Joan Greene passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27th, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on January 13, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Joseph E Lumpkin, Sr. and Mildred Lumpkin. Her family relocated to Anthony, Florida in 1946 where they built their home. Joan attended Anthony Elementary and Anthony High School.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Joseph Lumpkin, Jr. and husbands, Ralph Rodia and Donald Greene.
Survivors include children, Beverly (Lee) Turner, Ocala, Timothy Rodia, Lexington, TN, Rick Rodia (Cynthia Mula), Ocala, Patty Jean Poag, Ocala; sisters Patti Lumpkin and Barbara Smith, Anthony; brothers Michael Lumpkin, Anthony, and James (Donis) Lumpkin, Ocala, numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cross stitch and crocheting gifts for others and daily crossword or word search puzzles and her Mountain Dew. A special thanks to the staff at The Lodge, formerly New Horizon for their friendship to "Joanie". She will be missed by family, friends and those who touched her life. Rest in peace and we will miss you. Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, FL, with Pastor Samuel W. Clements officiating.
