Joan Mcleod
March 1, 1959 — August 20, 2017
Ocala - Joan Lisa McLeod, 58, went to be with our Lord, August 20, 2017, surrounded by a loving family. Joan lived in Ocala all her life and attended New Hope School, Hillcrest School and Opportunity Workshop.
She was an accomplished Special Olympics swimmer having won three Silver medals in the 1983 International Special Olympics.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, Jennings McLeod. She is survived by her mother, Gene McLeod, brother, Ralph McLeod (Darlene), sisters, Dawn Gray (Larry), Deborah Repass (Bill) and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Brick City Church (901 East Silver Springs Blvd) at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017. Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Florida-Marion County (3325 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34471). Arrangements under the care of Countryside Funeral Home.
