John Hustler Clayton Jr.

John Hustler Clayton 93, of Ocala, Florida, passed from this world into eternity with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2024. John was born in Jamestown, NY to John H Sr. and Anna White Clayton on May 5,1930. He married Phyllis Marjorie Seymour (deceased) on 10/10/1954 in Frewsburg, NY. He was a Plumber and Owner of John Clayton Plumbing of Ocala, Florida. John was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Army in Fort Rucker, Alabama as a Supply Sargent. John and Marjorie had three children Bobby Clayton (deceased), Deborah (Lonnie) Zipperer, and Donna Davis. They have four grandchildren Tamra, Chris (Lucretia), Tiffany, and Savannah. They have six great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. John re-married to Joyce Wheeler Tomlinson (deceased) on February 17, 1996, in Ocala, Florida where he gained a daughter Barbara (Ed) Luider, two additional grandchildren Matthew (Katelyn) and Kaitlynne (Cadell) and he added four additional great-grandchildren. John has one brother, Boyd (Sue) Clayton of Fort Smith, AL. John was proud to be a charter member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church, Ocala, Florida. and later became a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church also in Ocala. John was very involved in his church by teaching Sunday School, leading Small Groups, and participating in many other church ministries throughout his adult life. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am, Saturday March 23, 2024, at Countryside Funeral Home. A burial will follow at 12:30 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Ocala, Florida. Pallbearers will be Chris Hutchison, Tyler Hutchison, Chase Critchfield, Ed Luider, Matthew Luider, and Cadel Hager. John would want to extend his love, gratefulness, and thanks to “My (additional) Support Team” Michelle and Rose. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to John’s favorite charitable organizations who he has faithfully supported: Hospice of Marion County, Interfaith Food Kitchen, Second Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, St. Bonaventure Mission & School, Boys Town, St. Labre Indian School.
