Fullerton, John Alden
Ocala - John Alden Fullerton, 78, passed away on December 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife, Rachel of 32 plus years and family at Hospice Estelle’s House in Ocala.
John was born in Whitman, Massachusetts, July 12, 1940, to the late Willard M. And Bernice (Alden) Fullerton. He is survived by his children, Andrew Fullerton, John (Jack) Fullerton, Dr. Charles T. Baker and wife Shirley, Shelley Murray, all of Ocala and Tonya Collins of Ohio, and five wonderful grandchildren: Racklyn, Nathan, Ryley, Brianna and Angelica; brother, Robert (Whitey) Fullerton of Falmouth, MA; sisters, Meredith Condon of Whitman, MA and Bernice (Bunny) Allison of Mass. He was predeceased by his brothers: Richard Wayne Fullerton and Bela (Billy) Willard Fullerton, sisters: Priscilla DeLorenzo, Judith Markela and Betty Elaine Crane.
John was a member of Ocala First Assembly of God Church. He was active in the choir, “Gospel According to Scrooge” for eighteen years, “Heaven’s Gates Hell’s Flames”, Royal Rangers and various other ministries.
He graduated from Whitman High School in 1958. He was 17th direct descendent of John Alden and Priscilla Muellens that came to the United States landing at Plymouth Rock on the Mayflower voyage.
John proudly worked at Martin Marietta Aerospace Corp. for 30+ years. He used his expertise knowledge in various areas such as senior quality engineering, supervisor of Receiving Inspections, government auditing, organizing “Martin Marietta Family Days” functions, participated in PMT (Performance Measurement Team), suggestion programs and numerous other positions.
John enjoyed coaching soccer and was an avid armchair athletic cheering loudly for his favorite teams: New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and the Florida Gators!
Memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Christ the King Anglican Church, 4440 SE 3rd Ave, Ocala, FL, with Father Don Curran officiating.
