John Medeiros

Ocala - John Victor Medeiros, 95, passed away December 7, 2020. He was born in Bristol, Rhode Island to Joseph Medeiros and Gloria Geyer. He was truly one of the “Greatest Generation” and last of our World War II veterans. He quit school and joined the Navy and soon became a coxswain stationed in Pearl Harbor. After surviving that attack he later was at Normandy and Okinawa before retiring as a carpenter in the building industry.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Silvia Medeiros and both of his parents; sons, John Edward Medeiros and Thomas Joseph Medeiros; two great grand children, Melody Ann Sexton and Blake Edward Barker.

He is survived by his daughter; Sheila Sexton(Don Strosahl), brother; Henry Medeiros and sister, Louise Serpa; grandchildren, John Patrick Driver (Stephanie), Jason John Sexton (Amelia), Jennifer Medeiros Barker (Mike), Jackie Medeiros Anderson (David); great-children, Hayden Driver, Hailey Driver, Lillian Sexton, Malachi Sexton, Mercedes Barker, Angelina Barker, A.J. Rayes, Kayden Anderson and Logan Anderson.
